The Eagles Flight workshop took place on 22nd of September. It was a challenge that we had to complete within certain teams, but also as a class. It was a board game that included cards that represented supplies, fuel, cash, gold and more. The objective of the game was to reach the gold mine and collect as much gold as possible, while also being able to return home.
We were all told that we could trade with other teams, that we could trade with the teacher and that we could receive extra information if we stayed at the start of the game for longer.
Everyone decided to try and get as much gold as they could just for their team, but not the class. No team really tried to help another team unless they got something good out of it.
In the end team 1 got 7 gold, team 2 got 8 gold, team 3 got 7 gold, team 4 got 5 gold and team 3 got 7 gold. The reality was that if each team worked together, each team would have got 11 gold.
Myself and the whole class learned that teamwork was essential for this task and it was the only way of exceeding to our full potential.
