Camping Trip
Our camping trip is one of the more unique events of TY. Mostly because it is the first trip of the year and it is straight after we receive our junior cert results.
I remember when I first arrived into school and everyone was nervous but yet excited. We had a meeting in the morning about the trip and then we were presented our results, we were all proud of ourselves and of each other. Before we knew it, we were on the bus going to Lough Dan.

The first day was long, tiring but fun. When we arrived we faced our first challenge of putting up our tent before the rain came. Once the tent was assembled and the rain had past we went on a 5km walk to a small river and back. Everyone was enjoying themselves and enjoying the responsibility they were given. People had to cook for themselves, make a fire and clean up the barn.It had been a long day and everyone was ready for bed. Unfortunately the weather was awful. It rained and was windy the whole night, the tent refused to stop shaking, so the first night we slept rough.
The next morning we prepared ourselves for a 17km walk. We knew we were going to be walking through mud, a river, up and over mountains and some pretty bad weather. But we didn't let that stop us. We left the camp at 10:30 in the morning and returned at 3.30 in the afternoon. |

The trip ended the next morning, disappointed but relieved to go home. It was an experience that I'll never forget, it brought us closer together and it gave us responsibility that we had to take on, it also made us work harder as a team and we all did.
